Can a wind turbine blade be transported by cargo aircraft?

Next-generation onshore wind turbine blades measuring 60 to 80 meters do not fit in a standard cargo aircraft. However, we air-freight the critical nacelle components — generator, gearbox, pitch system, main bearings — as well as replacement blades for medium-power turbines (up to 25 meters) and pre-assembled blade sections for on-site repair.
