Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our services
How are competition horses secured during a cargo aircraft flight?
Horses travel in FEI/IATA-approved air stalls (typically 3-abreast configuration) bolted to the cargo deck. Each stall features non-slip flooring, padded walls, and adjustable partitions so horses can balance naturally during takeoff, flight, and landing. A qualified groom or veterinarian remains onboard to monitor stress, hydration, and any behavioral signs throughout the flight.
How far in advance should I book a cargo aircraft for horse competition transport?
For major events such as the Olympics, CSI 5, or World Equestrian Games*, we recommend booking 4 to 8 weeks in advance to secure optimal aircraft availability and routing. However, our network of over 7,000 cargo aircraft allows us to arrange last-minute charters within 24-48 hours when schedule changes or qualification results require urgent transport.
What veterinary documentation is required for international horse air freight?
International equine air freight requires a veterinary health certificate issued within 48 hours of departure, Coggins test results (negative), proof of vaccinations (equine influenza, tetanus), and an import permit from the destination country. For EU movements, an TRACES certificate is mandatory. Our logistics team handles all regulatory paperwork to ensure seamless customs clearance on arrival.
