Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (HTZA / ZNZ) is in Kisauni, about 5 km south of Stone Town, a fifteen-minute drive. A single runway, oriented 18/36, approximately 3,000 meters long, at 16 m: enough to accommodate private jets, up to ultra-long-haul from Europe.

The approach from the south is over water. The international terminal (Terminal 3) opened in 2021.
