An aircraft registered abroad also needs a separate landing permit. These procedures are essential: 3 to 5 business days in advance will prevent last-minute issues.

Wedding season (October to March) is peak private jet season in Delhi: families charter an entire aircraft to transport wedding parties between Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, or Goa. The peak is in November-December, before Diwali, and then in January-February. Aircraft are booked quickly.

In summer (May-June), the heat (official reference: 41 °C) can slightly reduce takeoff payload. On the main 4,430 m runway, the effect remains minimal. In winter, fog in December-January sometimes delays morning arrivals: the quote anticipates this, rather than discovering it on-site.

Indira Gandhi (انديرا غاندي) is Delhi’s airport, among the ten busiest in the world: 79 million passengers in 2024-2025. Four runways. The main one, 11R/29L, is 4,430 m long and allows landing in thick fog: Category II and III precision guidance, the same level on 11L/29R (4,400 m) and on runway 28 (3,813 m). Altitude 237 m. Private jets have a separate terminal. Each non-scheduled flight must obtain an authorization number before landing or departing: the DACN upon arrival, the DDCN upon departure. For an aircraft registered abroad, a permit from the DGCA, the Indian civil aviation authority, is also required.
