In Naples, the real driver isn’t distance, it’s parking. Capodichino is a single-runway airport, very busy in summer with commercial flights: business aviation is tolerated but ground time is capped at 3 hours during peak season, with no overnight parking. As a result, similar to highly sought-after islands, your aircraft will drop you off and often wait elsewhere (Rome, Bari, or Salerno) before returning. This repositioning flight is included in the quote, not discovered afterward.

Second point: slots and lead time. Prior Permission Required (PPR) must be filed up to fifteen days in advance, and the airport is closed to charter flights from 11 PM to 6 AM. A late departure or night arrival must therefore be planned well in advance, or shifted to another airfield.

Finally, season and events drive demand: this is covered in the calendar below, but remember that slots and parking are booked much earlier in summer than in winter.

Capodichino (LIRN / NAP), officially Ugo Niutta, is approximately 6 km northeast of the city center, a fifteen-minute drive. It is one of the closest airports to its city in Europe. A single runway, oriented 06/24, 2,628 meters long, at an elevation of 90 meters, pavement classification number 90, category 4D: it accommodates private jets, from the lightest to ultra-long-range.

It is a civil airport open to military traffic, with an adjoining US Navy base. Scheduled flights exceed 13 million passengers per year.

Capodichino is the entry point, but the journey doesn’t end there, and the coastal road, splendid but slow, turns into a traffic trap in summer.

Hence, two connections we systematically arrange. First, the helicopter: a few minutes from Naples to Capri or a coastal heliport, with a view that’s part of the journey. Second, the private boat, departing from the nearby Port of Naples, often the most elegant way to reach Capri.
