An empty leg to or from Valencia is a repositioning flight already on the schedule: the aircraft needs to reach another base or its next mission. These trips are offered at a reduced fare, often around 30% to 75% off a classic charter, in exchange for less flexibility on dates and routing.

Valencia follows two distinct pressure calendars. The first is cultural: the Fallas (March 15-19, 2026) annually draw hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city center. LEVC slots are booked weeks in advance during this period. Booking aircraft parking in advance is essential; the airport remains H24, but slots become saturated.
The second is regulatory. Between June 15 and September 15, Aena regulations stipulate that general and business aviation slot requests are only accepted a maximum of 15 days in advance. It’s impossible to book a slot six weeks ahead in mid-summer. Those planning a stay on the Costa Blanca or near Valencia in July-August must monitor the opening of this window.
Business traffic, however, is more consistent. The Port of Valencia (the fifth-largest Mediterranean port for containers, source Aena) generates professional traffic year-round from Hamburg, Rotterdam, Istanbul, and Gulf ports. Added to this are the automotive industry (the Ford plant in Almussafes is 15 km from the airport), nautical events inherited from the America’s Cup, and several trade shows in autumn.
Outside of Fallas and July-August, Valencia remains one of the most accessible Spanish destinations in terms of planning: 48 to 72 hours’ notice is usually sufficient to obtain a slot and handling.

Valencia Airport is in Manises, 8 km west of the city center, managed by Aena. It has one runway, 12/30, 3,215 m, with a Category I ILS at both ends: precision guidance for low ceilings. Altitude 73 m. The airport is open 24/7. Customs and immigration follow operating hours, not all night. Fuel is available on site, with five trucks. The basic fire category is 7. Categories 8 and 9, for very large aircraft, must be requested in writing at least 15 days in advance.
Since April 30, 2014, every private flight requires a slot, requested from Aena’s slot office. From June 15 to September 15, it can only be requested 15 days in advance, no earlier. An approved ground handling company is mandatory, even for a non-commercial flight. Five private aviation companies are active.
Upon your arrival
The aircraft parks in the private jet area, to the south, away from the airline terminal. For a flight outside the Schengen area, customs and passport control are done on site during operating hours. The car can drive up to the aircraft.
The city center, Marina Real, or City of Arts: 15 to 25 minutes.
In Valencia, your car can drive directly to the aircraft on the general aviation apron. The city center is 8 km away, taking 15 to 25 minutes depending on traffic. During Fallas (March 15-19), some main roads are closed due to temporary monuments: coordinate your route the day before with your chauffeur. The Costa Blanca, Gandia, and Dénia are 45 to 55 minutes away by road.
LEVC has dedicated helicopter positions on the south apron. Gandia or Dénia, a 50-minute drive, are 15 to 20 minutes by helicopter from LEVC. Albufera, the rice paddy lagoon south of Valencia, is accessible within minutes of flight. For a stay split between the coast and the city, this is the most efficient combination.

Yes, by road or by helicopter from the south apron. By car, Gandia is approximately 65 km away (45 to 55 minutes), Dénia approximately 100 km away (1 hour). By helicopter, these distances drop to 15 to 20 minutes of flight. For a stay split between Valencia and the southern coast, a helicopter from the airport is the fastest solution. No. The AIP ENAIRE explicitly states the absence of available hangar space for parking at LEVC, apart from a Cessna maintenance hangar which cannot accommodate commercial aircraft. For outdoor parking, climatic conditions in Valencia (significant sunshine, occasional mistral) remain favorable outside of adverse weather incidents.
