VistaJet: our full review
The Program membership model, Bombardier fleet, hourly rates and alternatives: our independent analysis of VistaJet.

About VistaJet
VistaJet is one of the best-known private jet companies in the world. Founded in 2004 by Swiss entrepreneur Thomas Flohr (initially under the name Air Executive), it began operations in 2005 with three aircraft, then grew rapidly on the back of an original model: owning its own fleet rather than acting as an intermediary.
Since 2018, VistaJet has been the flagship brand of the Vista Global Holding group, headquartered in Dubai (DIFC), while the operational center and the air operator’s certificate (Maltese AOC) are based in Malta. The group claims around 4,000 employees, flights to more than 187 countries and revenue of roughly $2.9 billion in 2025.
Unlike a broker, VistaJet is an operator: the famous silver and red livery identifies a consistent fleet, made up exclusively of Bombardier jets (plus a few complementary aircraft), offered to clients by the flight hour.
The VistaJet model: membership rather than ownership
The core of the VistaJet offering rests on multi-year memberships presented as an alternative to ownership (full or fractional):
Program
The premium membership: guaranteed access 365 days a year to the entire Vista fleet (around 200 aircraft), with notice that can drop to 24 hours, fixed hourly rates and no repositioning fees. This is the offering aimed at very heavy travelers (often 100 hours or more per year).
VJ25
An entry point starting from 25 flight hours per year, on a three-year commitment, giving access to the brand’s signature services. Ideal for high-end but infrequent travel.
Corporate
A plan designed for companies: flexible departure times, the ability to use two aircraft simultaneously and preferential payment terms.
Direct
For those who don’t want a membership, VistaJet also offers on-demand one-off charter, as well as access to preferential rates on empty legs.
By the end of 2024, VistaJet claimed around 1,330 Program members, up from 910 at the end of 2022, growth that illustrates the traction of the membership model.
The fleet
VistaJet operates a single-manufacturer Bombardier fleet, ensuring a consistent experience from one flight to the next. It mainly includes:
- Super-midsize: Challenger 350 / 3500
- Large cabin: Challenger 605 / 650 / 850, Gulfstream G450
- Ultra-long-range: Global 5000, 6000 and 7500
- A few midsize (Cessna Citation XLS) as a complement
The Vista group fleet (including the XO brand) exceeds 250 aircraft owned, leased or managed. Of note: the fleet was reduced from 266 aircraft at the end of 2023 to around 206 at the end of 2025, as the group refocuses its assets on its Program segment and prepares for the arrival of new Challenger 3500s.
Onboard service
This is one of VistaJet’s great strengths. The company pays particular attention to the cabin experience: crews trained by the British Butler Institute, Norland College (for welcoming children), the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and MedAire (medical). VistaJet guarantees at least one cabin crew member on every flight, offers seasonal menus, children’s programs and welcomes pets. The brand is also the official supplier to Scuderia Ferrari.
VistaJet’s strengths
Consistency and predictability: a consistent branded fleet means you know exactly what to expect, regardless of the aircraft or region. Few players offer this level of premium standardization.
Guaranteed availability: for Program members, access to an aircraft with 24 hours’ notice, 365 days a year, is a strong argument for unpredictable schedules.
Global coverage: with flights to nearly 200 countries and offices on every continent, VistaJet handles intercontinental itineraries with ease.
Exceptional onboard service: high-end training, attention to detail, family and pet programs, the client experience is among the best standards on the market.
No capital investment: flying a lot without tying up the capital needed to buy an aircraft remains financially relevant for certain profiles.
Identified weaknesses
Multi-year commitment: both Program and VJ25 rest on contracts of several years with a minimum number of hours. That’s a major obstacle for anyone who doesn’t fly regularly.
High entry ticket: with hourly rates of $15,000 to $25,000 and one-off charter from $11,000, the offering targets a high-end segment. For occasional use, the bill is often less competitive than a charter negotiated case by case.
No small aircraft: the fleet starts at super-midsize. For a short regional trip or a tighter budget, the absence of Very Light Jets or turboprops is a real limitation.
Less flexibility than a broker: VistaJet naturally steers you toward its own fleet. An independent broker, on the other hand, can select any aircraft from any operator to match your need and budget as closely as possible.
Fleet reduction: the drop in the fleet (266 to 206 aircraft in two years) could, in theory, weigh on availability during demand peaks.
Who is VistaJet recommended for?
VistaJet is aimed above all at very frequent travelers (executives, wealthy families, companies) who value a consistent branded fleet, guaranteed availability and premium onboard service, and who accept a multi-year commitment in return.
Conversely, occasional travelers, those looking for a specific aircraft or an optimized budget, or those who refuse any long-term commitment, will generally find more value with an independent broker.
Private Jets Connect: the no-commitment alternative
In contrast to VistaJet’s membership model, Private Jets Connect offers a different approach, built on freedom and independence:
- No multi-year commitment: you pay per flight, with no multi-year contract or imposed hours volume.
- Every type of aircraft: from Very Light Jet to ultra-long-range, we select the ideal aircraft for each trip, not the one from a single fleet.
- Total independence: as a broker, we compare operators for you, with no commercial bias toward a single brand.
- Transparent pricing: a clear structure, readable margins, and a quote tailored to your real need.
- Responsiveness: a dedicated contact and a fast quote, including for last-minute departures.

Verdict and rating
VistaJet is a benchmark player in private aviation, whose branded fleet, guaranteed availability and onboard service are among the best in the sector. It is an excellent choice for heavy, regular travelers ready to commit. On the other hand, for occasional use, an optimized budget or a need for varied aircraft, the flexibility of an independent broker like Private Jets Connect will often be more relevant.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our services
Is VistaJet a broker or an operator?
VistaJet is an operator: the company flies with its own fleet of Bombardier jets (silver and red livery), not as an intermediary. That is the major difference with a broker like Private Jets Connect, which selects, for each flight, the aircraft and operator best suited from among hundreds of providers.
How much does a flight with VistaJet cost?
One-off charter starts at around $11,000. On a Program membership, the hourly rate for a Challenger 350 is around $15,000/h and a Global sits between $18,000 and $25,000/h. The plans require a multi-year commitment and a minimum number of hours.
Do you need a membership to fly with VistaJet?
Not necessarily. VistaJet offers its Program, VJ25 and Corporate memberships (multi-year commitment), but also a Direct on-demand charter option. For an occasional need without commitment, an independent broker is often more flexible.
VistaJet or Private Jets Connect: which to choose?
VistaJet suits heavy, regular travelers who want a consistent branded fleet and guaranteed availability. Private Jets Connect, an independent broker, is better suited if you want to fly without a multi-year commitment, access every type of aircraft (from Very Light Jet to ultra-long-range) and pay per flight, with transparent pricing.
